The Foggy Backstreet is the most mysterious place in the City. Here, at dusk, shady dealings are made behind fortified doors. The Security Service strongly recommends avoiding this place. If you're not looking for trouble and value your memory, of course.

- Location Description

The Foggy Backstreet is a treacherous alleyway that the Workshop has stairs leading to, though not seen from the perspective when playing. This is confirmed by Carlos Light and shown on the Upper City's map. It is on the lower part of Upper City, and the archway in the background leads to West Corner which houses most of the other Locations in Upper City.

The alleyway is where criminals, mobsters and other manner of suspicious fare await. Scavengers have something that interests Light, and it's the player's role to find out about the deal he made, and his lack of contact here.

Set at night, the scene is shown overlooking a small bridge and narrow alley, with likely an illegal pawnbroking shop and other buildings. Silhouettes of strangers gaze at the player, and there is a red-eyed creature encased under the bridge, and a black cat walking the balconies above.

The Hidden Items in the area reflect this trend of unwelcomeness; bats, restrictive tape and bear traps give a hostile feeling to travelers. When searching for items, players should be aware of the walls of the buildings, and their windows, as well as the overgrown flora, and the booth on the rightmost side. Most items on the street itself will be readily visible.

These are the values for a search in any of the exploration modes; an anomaly will yield increased rewards depending on the anomaly. An active booster or a charge from a visitor may likewise change the costs and/or the rewards, with the exception of Skeleton Keys. During an event, if this location is one of the early unlock locations, the values may change for the duration of the event; exact values dependent on the player level.
